Next - Caring for my family. My bedridden husband,
our cripple son and our very spoiled CAT.
BUT my next passion is Helping Those Who Cannot
Help Themselves. Animals, Children and
The Elderly.
Tonight I want to talk about the Elderly.
My heart breaks for those in Nursing Homes.
I want to start a movement to where every person
in a nursing home, retirement center or Home
Bound has two advocates.
Two people who will take turns checking on them.
Making sure they have what they need.
Making sure they are being treated
not good but GREAT.
That they are NOT being abused in any way.
(This is something all Churches can do.)
And so many other clubs and groups.
Also making sure that people know that the elderly
are PEOPLE too!
Set up a wall or Bulletin Board in each person's room
with pictures of them and their family through out
their life.
Awards, accomplishments, newspaper articles and more.
Also with cards sent by friends and loved ones.
Also, find out what their hobbies where. Find out
what they loved to do but never had time to do
during their busy life and bring them what ever
it was.
Help them get started doing it.
You just may enjoy it too.
Very important - There are now cameras that can
be set up in their rooms which can be monitored even
on your cellphone. Make sure that a reliable family
member or person in charge has one set up to watch
out for abuse or neglect. It happens TOO OFTEN.
Remember, We are on this earth for two reasons.
To Serve God And To Help Others.
It's That Simple.

And let us not grow weary of doing good for
in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
