Living Under House Arrest - Growing Old

I have written poetry my entire life.
I have a box filled with my poems,
songs and journals from all the way
back to my childhood.

Here's a poem I wrote entitled
"I've Been There".
I wrote it when I was
 29 as I thought about
growing old.
it's Fun to look back and read some
of the things I wrote back then as
I am turning the big 55 next month.

Hope you enjoy

"I've Been There"

Don't talk to me like life has passed me by,
I've Been There.

Don't look at me and sigh that long sad sigh,
I've Been There.

My hair may be the shade of gray, but hey,
I've Been There.

My clothes may not fit that certain way,
But, I've Been There.

I may take life a little slower now,
But, I've Been There.

I know it's not me when the guys say
"Look At That Gal!"
But Hey Kid,
I've Been There.

I've done what you're doing.
I've been where you're going.
And I've got the advantage of knowing
where it is you're going to,
Cause
I've Been There Too.

Now days my focus is on Serving The LORD
and Caring for my Family.
Those other things that seemed so important
back then are of less value to me now.
With Age comes Wisdom.

Let's Never Forget,
Growing Old Is A BLESSING.
It is our gift from GOD that allows
us to spend more time doing what
HE Placed us here to do in the first
place.
Be Blessed

God's Gracious Word can make you into
what He wants you to be and give you
everything you could possibly need.

Oh The Miracles We Have Seen

During our 6 years and 8 months of this journey
our family has endured we have seen countless
Miracles.
God has indeed supplied every single need.  We
have never been homeless. (We came close when
a lady who owned the condo we were living in
had her lawyer send us a letter telling us we had
24 hours to get out because we were unable to buy
the condo.)  We've never been hungry, or gone
without any basic needs.
Every Time the devil has tried to tear us down
God has ALWAYS turned it
into an AWESOME BLESSING.

God has supplied even the tiniest needs
 like manna from Heaven.
Things Like -

* A gallon of tea.  One night I realized after
I had dragged myself to bed, I had
forgotten to make it  -  about that time
the doorbell rings and there was our Preacher's
daughter standing there with a gallon of tea
they had left over from a youth meeting, along
with other goodies.

* I needed stuffing for pillows I was making - I walked
to the trash compactor and there stacked neatly
was things from someone who was moving and
didn't have room to take a lot of there things.
On top of one stack was an unopened bag of
Polyfill Stuffing. (The same kind I always use.)

* We were flat broke.  Only a few cents in my
pocket - I was walking across the grocery store
parking lot when I looked down and laying there
so flatten from being run over that it even had
the imprint of the asphalt, was a hundred dollar
bill.  I reached down and picked it up not even
sure if it was real.  It was obvious it had been there
for a while.  And yes it was real alright.

* Our air condition went out - A neighbor gave
us the name of a repairman.  When he came
to check it out he discovered it needed an
expensive part.  But after further study
he discovered  that there had been a recall
on the part.  We didn't have to pay for the
part or the labor.  On top of that the
gentleman was a member of an organization
who sometimes helped local families in need.
After he told them about our family a
few members came to our home a week later
and presented us with $1000.00 in grocery
store gift cards.

It goes on and on and on.
Miracle After Miracle.

Even over the past few weeks Blessings
continue to flow.

* I needed an ironing board - I put it on my
list.  The next day as I went to take
the trash out, there leaning against the
fence was a perfect ironing board. Just
like knew.  I took it home, sanitized it and
bought a pad/cover for it at the dollar store.

* We needed a kitty door for the
sliding glass door for Chocolate to go back
and forth to the balcony so she could get to
her litter box we keep in the utility room.
The door that matched our door
happened to be the top of the line style which
cost $260.  NO WAY would we EVER get it.
Even if we had that kind of money there was
NO WAY I'd pay that much for a cat door.
- well, two weeks ago, AGAIN as I was taking
the trash out, there laying against the fence
at the trash compactor was the very cat door
we needed.
The very door we had seen online for $260.
No one even knew we were looking at cat doors.
No One but Trammell, me and Of Course God.
It looked brand new.  I could hardly believe my eyes.
As a matter of fact, if Trammell had not found it online
and showed it to me I would have walked right
by it never even knowing what it was.
I loaded it up and took it back to our condo
where Trammell wiped it down with Clorox
wipes and installed it.
It looks Great and works great.

Time and time again God has rain down HIS
Blessings upon us, Supplying every single need.
Many times before we even know there is
a need.

I continue to remind myself each time I even
start to worry about anything, that
GOD'S GOT IT ALL UNDER CONTROL.
There Is Never A Time To Worry.
Only A Time To Pray.

Philippians 4:19
And my GOD shall supply every need of
yours according to His riches in Glory in
Christ Jesus.

Catching Up

Where to start?

So much has happened.

We love our new place.  I signed
a three year lease so we will be
here for a while.

David is the same.  Diapers, baby bottles,
preschool toys and Nick Jr. cartoons.
He really enjoys sitting out on
the balcony which overlooks the
Intracoastal Waterway.  He loves
watching the boats go by.

Trammell is doing great.  He has
lost a lot of weight!  Since January
he's gone from a waist size of 38 to
a 31.  He has set up a Gym in our
extra bedroom and is getting into
great shape.
He still can't feel his legs or feet but
nothing stops him.
He is as awesome cook and does most
of the cooking for us. What a BLESSING!
He works so hard helping me care for
his Dad.  David and I are So Blessed to
have a son like Trammell.

Me? Praying I can just get my health
back so I can give 110% to caring for
my family.
I don't stop when I'm sick,
I just move a lot slower. LOL
My liver is doing great now.
My BP has been bottoming out
and because of that I ended up
having an EMS ride to the hospital
a couple of weeks ago.
After 5 hours in the ER they
determined that along with my
BP problem I had a really bad
Kidney infection and suffered
from Exhaustion.

Trammell surprised me with a
weekend trip to Charleston last
week for some much needed
R&R.  Plus a tour of the Sea Turtle
Hospital.  It Was Awesome.
WHAT A BLESSING!!!
A Very dear friend of ours
volunteered to stay the entire
weekend and care for David so
we could get away.
In the past 2,424 days I've now
had 80 nights of SLEEP.

Our House In Greenville.
The Nightmare continues.
We were able to go to
Greenville the first of June
and began cleaning it out
along with some dear friends
who were kind enough to help
us.
It was a hardship because we
had to bring David and the cat
with us and stay in a hotel for
a week plus hire a sitter for
David every day.
We were Blessed when a friend
contacted a builder who made
us an awesome offer.
What a Blessing!
He would buy the house for $100,000.
Sadly that $20 less than we gave
for it in the year 2000.
He would repair the thousands
of dollars in damages then put
the house on the market then
pay us for the house when it
sold.
But his plans changed and he
and his family had to moved
into the house.
This means that this part of
our (six year, eight month)
nightmare continues.
We are Praying that he
will be able to pay us for the
house very soon and we can go
on with our life.

As always, we humbly ask for your
Prayers.
Thank You So Much,
Linda Byce

JUST AS WE PRAISE HIM IN THE

Book we are reading - The Purpose Driven Life
                                     by Rick Warren

Verse of the Week - So we fix our eyes not on what is seen,
but on what is unseen.  For what is seen
is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

It Feels Good To Be Missed

I got a call the other days from a sweet lady who
said she and the ladies in her office had been reading
my blog but it had been months since I had written
and they wondered what happened to me.

First of all let me say that made me feel so
good to think that there are people out there
who really care about what I have to say.
What a wonderful feeling.
What a Blessing.

I had started the blog while we were living in
a beach front condo at Bay Watch Resort in
North Myrtle Beach for the winter.
I called it
"100 Days In Paradise"
as kind of a play on words because we were
Living Our
"Nightmare" in "Paradise".

I hated that I had only posted the blog 98
out of the 100 days.
I missed two days when I was so
sick for a time that two days I could not
even sit up to write.

Starting today I am going to start another
blog called, appropriate enough,
LIVING UNDER HOUSE ARREST.

It will be a weekly blog, posted each
Saturday.

Hoping it will be a Blessing to everyone
who reads it.

Thank You All,
Linda Byce
